Today, it offers cozy, technology-free cabins equipped with Starlink for modern connectivity in a peaceful, off-the-grid setting. Guests can enjoy an authentic, immersive experience of Montana’s wilderness while staying connected when needed. A new restaurant and Old West saloon will be introduced in 2025, further enriching the property's charm. Year-round outdoor adventures like horseback riding, fly-fishing, hiking, hunting, and rock climbing as well as seasonal activities await all who seek adventure and relaxation.
Our Story
Lost Horse Lodge, originally established in 1971 by Bob Cameron, began as a collection of historic 1890s log cabins relocated to a serene 13-acre site in the Bitterroot National Forest. Initially a lively cowboy bar with unique traditions like name carvings on the bar and dollar bills hanging from the ceiling, the lodge evolved in 1996 under new ownership to emphasize rustic tranquility and a connection to nature.
